This program tends to move the cursor to the end of the text box while I am typing. That’s acceptable when I’m copying and pasting text to translate, since it’s not noticeable. When I’m typing, though, and using the mouse to go back and correct text, it is really annoying. I can type one or two characters, then I have to reposition the cursor again. Maybe their goal is to have me type perfectly the first time.
The translations have been good. I can converse with friends in Chile and Germany and rely on this program for some of the idioms that escaped me before. And, I really appreciate the spoken text. It’s very helpful to see and hear at the same time.
When I first ran it, I did think that it wasn’t launching. Then I noticed the little iTranslate globe in the menu bar. It’s unexpected that it starts minimized like that. Now that I know that, it’s pretty easy to use (and even easier if you assign a keyboard shortcut to it).
